Independence Day (15th Aug, 2017)
‘Independence day is celebrated every year with great enthusiasm . the theme for the day was ‘We are proud to be an Indian’.
The chief guest of the function was our Principal Rev. Sr. Alphonsa. The chief guest and other sisters Sr. Superior Sr. Yvonne, Sr. Cecelia and Sr. Brita were welcomed with the ‘Aarti’ and were escorted to the flag post. Flag was hoisted by our Principal. All the teachers and students saluted the National flag with respect and honour. National anthem was played. March past was conducted by the N.C.C troop.
The Guest and sisters were proceeded to the stage. Prayer service was offered by the Pre- Primary Staff. Our chief Guest Sr. Alphonsa was introduced by Mrs. Ashwini followed by felicitation.
Mrs. Hemaliya Anthony, our Pre-Primary teacher was given farewell. Hema teacher was felicitated by our principal Rev. Sr. Alphonsa, for her service rendered to our school very sincerely and devotedly. Speeches by the students – Miss. Aashna Bothra – VIII delivered in English.
The cultural programme included the Dance by Std VII- VIII class students on ‘I am India’ followed by Fancy Dress Display by primary section students. A Presentation on ‘Why to join Indian Army’ was shown to know about the Indian Army. A patriotic song – ‘ Suno gaur se duniya walon’ was sung by the choir.
Our Principal addressed the children and appreciated the performance. Parents and ex- students attended the function.
Vote of thanks was proposed by Mrs. Kausar. The programme ended with slogans and sweet distribution.
